A Washington state emergency room doctor has been fired after going on Facebook and TV and publicly accusing the hospital where he worked of a slow response to the coronavirus that exposed staff to danger.
Ming Lin showed up for work at PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center on Friday and was told he had been terminated before the start of his shift, The Seattle Times reported.
“I got a message that said, ‘Your shift has been covered,’” Lin told the paper.
The hospital employed Lin for 17 years under a contract with TeamHealth, a national health care staffing company.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The American Dental Association has instructed dentist’s offices to remain closed through the end of April in most cases as part of the effort to slow the transmission of COVID-19.
But some dentist’s offices are opening their doors under certain circumstances for the very same reason.
Statistics show Americans go to hospitals once every 14 seconds for dental problems, or more than 2 million times annually.
“My main goal in being open at this time is to make sure we play a role in the health industry and kind of help prevent the clogging up of our emergency rooms,” Parkville Modern Dentistry’s Dr. Matthew Yip said.
Parkville Modern Dentistry looks a little different than it did a month ago. You won’t find people in for routine cleanings and regular checkups right now.
But that doesn’t mean Yip isn’t staying

With the growing complexity of the healthcare system, patients now have a considerable array of choices when it comes to receiving care from providers. This often includes the option of selecting what type of healthcare facility they wish to utilize from a long list of many. After all, the 2018 AHA Hospital Statistics reported here were 5,534 registered hospitals in the U.S.
And like the complicated healthcare industry, medical malpractice lawsuits tend to be one of the most complex types of legal claims requiring experts specializing in this type of law. One reason for this is the wide variety of types, features, locations and services of hospitals today.
With so many different types of hospitals and medical facilities, you may wonder what makes one hospital or facility different from another — and therefore, its medical malpractice coverage.
