resize iconPercentage of Hospitals Meeting All 7 Core Elements by State, 2018

CDC’s 2018 National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) Survey data of hospitals meeting all 7 core elements of hospital antibiotic stewardship programs by state.

This document updates the 2014 Core Elements for Hospital Antibiotic Stewardship Programs and incorporates new evidence and lessons learned from experience with the Core Elements. The Core Elements are applicable in all hospitals, regardless of size. There are suggestions specific to small and critical access hospitals in Implementation of Antibiotic Stewardship Core Elements at Small and Critical Access Hospitals (12).

Summer Pathway Programs | Pritzker School of Medicine

Pritzker School of Medicine Experience in Research (PSOMER) is an eight-week residential research, education, and mentoring experience at the University of Chicago. Participants in the program are rising college seniors or students rising into a post baccalaureate program.

Eligibility and Prerequisites
Applicants must be US citizens or have Permanent Resident status. The program seeks students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds and/or who represent groups that are known to be underrepresented in health related sciences and medicine. Due to the nature of the NIH grant that supports PSOMER, participants cannot be appointed to another NIH training award (such as a T32 or an individual F series fellowship) or supported by a federal research grant during the program period. Unfortunately, students with F1 student visa status are not eligible for PSOMER.

Ideal candidates should –

  1. Be a junior, senior, or rising post-baccalaureate student
  2. Have successfully completed intermediate- or advanced-level biology, chemistry, and/or
